The University of New Mexico School of Engineering Corporate Affiliate Program
The School of Engineering Corporate Affiliate Program is designed to give corporate partners an inside track to some of our brightest engineers and computer scientists while also providing career opportunities to students. Each year, the School of Engineering produces hundreds of engineers and computer scientists at the bachelor’s, master's, and doctorate levels. The Corporate Affiliate Program connects employers with our students with a streamlined and mutually beneficial approach: a one-stop shop for companies to connect with students, and for students to connect with companies.
Our program is addressing the need in high-tech fields to provide companies with skilled and motivated problem solvers and thinkers to work on resolving modern challenges of critical global importance.
BENEFITS
Benefits for students include:
- Internship and traineeship programs: Growing the pool of funds that provides stipends for unpaid internships and traineeships in the respective fields of study.
- Professional development: Enabling students to participate at regional and national conferences, hosting student visits to Corporate Affiliate Program sites to experience a day in the life of working professionals and multiple opportunities for students to become more competitive job applicants through resumé critique and interviews.
- Keeping our talent in New Mexico: Offering first-year scholarships to talented New Mexico high school seniors and keeping highly skilled graduates in-state by connecting them to local industry leaders seeking to hire new, skilled employees.
- Financial assistance: Providing financial support for tuition and fees when emergencies arise.
- Outreach programs: Introducing careers in engineering and computer sciences to K-12 students and offering stipends to high school students participating in engineering activities.
